When are tryouts?
Tryouts are held at the end of May, early June. There are two tryout times scheduled per team/league, one on a weekend, one during the week. Some leagues may reguire an additional night of tryouts. Tryout dates are advertised on the website, via e-mail, and by flyer to Canton Intermediate School and Cherry Brook Primary School.
What is the structure of a travel team?
There are two sizes of travel teams. The older players use a large field and have 11 players on the field. This begins at U-12, usually with 6th graders. The younger players use a smaller field, with 8 players on the field.
How many players make up a team?
The older players using the large field have about 16 players on the roster. The small sized teams, using the small fields, have around 12 players.

What is the cost of the travel program?
In addition to the regular registration fee, travel players purchase the team uniform. This includes one white and one maroon jersey, maroon shorts, white and maroon socks. The cost varies, lately ranging between $100 and $125. The same uniform is used by all Canton travel teams. Occassionally, a used uniform is available for resale. Travel players also pay additional monies for referree fees. The amount depends on the number of home games played that season.
How long is the season?
There are two seasons in Travel Soccer. In the fall, practice begins at the end of August. Games begin in early September and end in early November. Not every age group fields a team for the spring season. Spring practice and games begin in April and end in early June.
What does the "U" in league names mean ( for example U-11)?
The U stands for "Under". A U-11 team would be made up of players that turn 11, on or after August 1st of that year.
